Anya Meksin is an award-winning filmmaker whose short film "BeratedWoman" was nationally broadcast on the Logo Network as part of "TheClick List: Best in Short Film". "BALKA," her recent documentary ondrug use and HIV in Eastern Europe, was funded by the Soros OpenSociety Institute and has screened at festivals worldwide. She isalso the recipient of a production grant from the Alfred P. SloanFoundation for her upcoming film on computational neuroscience,starring Karen Young. Her writing and photography have been publishedin the Bright Lights Film Journal, The Kafka Project, and the YaleLiterary Magazine. Anya received a BA in Literature from YaleUniversity and an MFA in Directing from Columbia University School ofthe Arts, where she also teaches an undergraduate course innon-fiction filmmaking.
