I think filming is a collaborative effort to create something of value. In the process of crafting a documentary, I, as a director, take the audience on a journey of discovery - a narrative with unexpected revelations. Embracing the element of surprise becomes indispensable, for it is the catalyst for genuine emotion, and without emotion, no learning can take place. I am also convinced that film has the power to make the invisible visible.
Without a camera much would stay hidden. A camera makes the world more transparent and allows perceptions to be expanded.
