Zdeněk Viktora graduated from the Department of Screenwriting and Dramaturgy at the Prague FAMU (2000–2009). He is one of the few Czech filmmakers to receive a prestigious American Fulbright Scholarship, which allowed him to study in New York at the Tisch School of the Arts. In addition to a rich screenwriting portfolio, he is also the author of screenplays that have been awarded internationally. Already his first feature-length screenplay, Tearphone, won a competition organized by the Sundance Institute's Central European Screenwriting Workshop. The second scenario of Hotel Prague then received a grant from the Fund for the Support and Development of Czech Cinematography of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. Another feature screenplay for M.O. won the Literární noviny Award for the most original screenplay at the FAMU 2006 festival. His next feature screenplay, Raportér, in which he co-participated with Tomáš Holeček, is currently in production.
