Gyula Nemes was born in 1974 in Hungary. He studied at FAMU, Prague, under professors Věra Chytilová and Karel Vachek. His first feature, My One and Onlies was in competition in Venice. His latest film Lost World won the best documentary award at the 2008 Karlovy Vary IFF.
