Markku Heikkinen (born 1966) studied sociology and philosophy at the Tampere University and documentary filmmaking at the Film School at the UIAH in Helsinki, graduating with an MA in 2006. He has worked as TV and radio journalist in YLE since 1986 and as a freelance documentary film maker since 1993, completing several YLE in-house productions as well as five films in independent production.
