Dorian Supin was born on 25 September in 1948 in Leningrad. 1950 the family moved to Estonia. After school he returned to Leningrad in order to study plant protection at the Leningrad Agricultural Institute. Between 1971 and 1975 he had various jobs in Tallinn, acquiring experience in different fields of work and getting to know fascinating and worldly-wise people. In 1975 he started work at Estonian Television – first as an assistant cameraman and later as a cameraman and director at Estonian Telefilm, additionally writing scripts as well. Since 1997 Dorian Supin has been a freelance cameraman and film director in his company Minor Film and the company F-Seitse. Dorian Supin has participated – as cameraman, director or scriptwriter – in over 50 documentary films and 5 features.
