Sofia was born in 1976. She graduated with a diploma in acting from the Professional Theater Academy of Cascais, Portugal (2003/2004).She has worked at Teatro da Cornucópia (Lisboa) since 1996 with participation in more than 30 plays, mostly staged by the renowned director Luis Miguel Cintra. Sofia directed and produced the documentary film “Vê-los assim tão pertinho” (“Looking Them Closely”, 50’, 2010, Portugal) in co-production with Comédias do Minho (2010) which premiered in Cinemateca Portuguesa in September 2012. She directed the documentary film “8816 versos” (“8816 verses”), which had its world premiere at the 37th São Paulo International Film Festival and its European premiere at Doclisboa’13.
