Sam Joyce is the Acquisitions & Content Manager at TVF International, the world's leading independent distributor of documentaries and factual series.

At TVF, Sam collaborates with first-class international producers on co-productions, deficit financing and distribution of completed projects. He is currently responsible for all acquisitions from Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and parts of Asia, whilst also leading marketing and content-curation for DOKBOX, a direct-to-consumer VOD platform for documentary films and series. He has served as an industry mentor at the Institute of Documentary Film’s Ex Oriente Forum and Whistler Film Festival Doc Lab, as well as on the Jury at Sunny Side of the Doc.

His credits include producing Estonia from Above, Japanese Islands from Above, and the upcoming Japan’s Wild Side, as well as scripting work on projects such as Planet of Machines, Salme: Ancient Viking Burial Ships, and The Secret Life of Bats. His writing on film and broadcast media has appeared in The Guardian, The Independent, Tank Magazine, Screen International, and TBI, as well as Political Perspectives, an academic journal published by the University of Manchester. He is a graduate of Birkbeck College, University of London and Balliol College, University of Oxford.
