Petr Salaba is a documentary filmmaker and science communicator focused on AI alignment with human values. He currently directs and produces video essays for the Dwarkesh Patel Podcast.
Seriously playing with the capabilities of generative AI, Petr's works include "Scalespace" - an AI-generated film about the evolution of communication and cooperation (premiered at IDFF Ji.hlava 2023), and "Anamensis" - an interactive chatbot simulation testing human empathy toward digital suffering (CPH:DOX 2024).
Petr graduated from the Department of Documentary Film at Prague's FAMU and teaches workshops on critical and creative AI implementation for public and commercial institutions. His interdisciplinary interests extend to embodied cognition and his passion for natural communication with horses.
