Activist 38 is set up by film director and animator Mina Mileva and actress Vesela Kazakova. The company is attracted to strong political and social issues. Their late documentary Uncle Tony caused an outcry and prestigious European organisations stepped in support of the filmmakers. It had record number of cinema screenings, a successful festival life and it was awarded internationally. Beast and River Tales received CE’s MEDIA development fund and a number of pitch awards. The awarded animation Because of Mum was sold to ARTE.
