Magdalena Szymków is a documentary filmmaker, screenwriter and film archives researcher with a journalistic background, graduated from Wajda School in Warsaw. Since 2016 she is a PhD student of Film Directing at Lodz Film School. She is an alumnus of Berlinale Talents Doc Station 2015 and a co-founder of London based production company Vezfilm. Recently she received a year grant from Amsterdam Art Fund in Netherlands. Her previous film “My House Without Me”, a cinematic essay about displacement was nationally broadcasted, awarded and screened across the festivals all over the world. Currently is working on a found footage documentary “Reporter” and an international documentary co-production “Occupation’68”.
