Ana Vijdea is a Romanian-born filmmaker with a strong foundation in documentary storytelling. She is a recent graduate of DocNomads, an itinerant master's program in documentary film directing. Previously, she earned an MFA in Film from Syracuse University in New York as a Fulbright scholar, and a BA in Cinematography and Media from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
Her body of work includes several acclaimed short films and a VR project, which have screened at major international film festivals including IDFA, True/False, Visions du Réel, and MoMA’s Doc Fortnight. In 2017, Filmmaker Magazine recognized her as one of the “25 New Faces of Independent Film.”
