Sociologist (Charles University) and photographer (FAMU), a freelance writer. He is also an external lecturer of visual sociology at the Faculty of Humanities at the Charles University and of spaces sociology at DAMU in Prague. He specializes in visual and biographical sociology. In early 90s he co-founded the Film & sociologie foundation. In his photography mostly dominates subjective documentary about the life of scarecrows. He also founded a new scientific discipline – terriculology (from Latin terriculus/a for scarecrow) and he presents the results of his work at exhibitions and in the media. He is also involved in food-instalations and making objects from food.
The animated film The Chronicle of Oldrich S. is his director´s debut.
