Carlo Pisani is a traveling film director. He was born in Bari (Italy) in 1978. Following his parents, medical doctors, he is raised in Mozambique, Italy and Tanzania. Concludes his secondary education in England where his passion for photography in 1998 leads to a fascination with moving images. He shoots documentaries for NGOs in Angola, Tanzania and Ethiopia and in 2004 enrolls in the National Film School of Italy in Rome (Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia). There he directs four short films, "Cell Mate", “Consuelo” (62nd Vencie Film Festival), “Tomorrow”, “The Rival” and graduates in 2006. In the same year he wins the “Premio Solinas” (most important screenwriter contest in Italy) with a treatment he has co-written. For the next two years he lives in Berlin where he works as an editor (“Strictly Bolshoi” - winner of international Emmy award). In 2010 he participates in the Berlinale Talent Campus. At present he lives and works in Zurich where he has co-founded the production company RebelMango.
