Nevena Semova is an emerging film-maker and producer based between Estonia and Bulgaria. In 2022, she established her production company Attic Films in Bulgaria. Her debut as director, the short film “1000” had its world premiere at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in 2023, followed by selections at In the Palace and the IDSFFK in 2024. Her projects have been presented at festivals like Clermont-Ferrand, FEST, WildDogs, Uşak Film Festival and DOK.fest Műnchen.
For her work as producer, Nevena received the Baltic Producers MEDIA award 2022 and the Young Producer award at the Golden Femi Film Festival 2023. Nevena is an alumna of New Producer's Room of the Cannes Film Festival 2023 and Development Angels Programme of Less is More in 2024.
