Anna Ďurišíková is a film and theatre director. She has a PhD in literature and studied Theatre Directing at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático in Madrid. She works as a director and producer for the film production company Admiral Films specialized in environmentally conscious filmmaking. Her work often fuses live theatre and film, focusing especially on minorities, gender violence, environmental violence, and animal rights. Animals of the East is her debut feature documentary.
