Having obtained his Abitur, Daniel Petry spent two years in Mexico, mainly in Mexico City and Guadalajara. Nevertheless, Daniel Petry returned to Berlin and worked as a camera assistant and later cameraman for the West Berlin ZDF-Studio, where intensive coverage of the East Berlin and GDR politics was on his daily schedule. When the wall came down, Petry worked for all major German and various international broadcasters, such as Visnews, BBC and NBC. In 1990, he was on his way again over the Atlantic, as a producer and cameraman for both the ZDF Studios in Caracas/Venezuela and Washington. Back in Berlin, Daniel Petry has consequently built up Context TV GmbH, joined by his two partners Stephan Braun and Andreas Bremer. What started as a camera rental house and crewing service for CNN, Reuters, DWTV, SAT 1, ZDF and ARD- Hauptstadtstudio, has developed to an international working and co-producing company.
