Eszter Nordin, was born in Hungary and defected with her family to the UK in 1969. She had completed her education at Pitzer College in California gaining a B.A. in Fine Arts. Her professional career started at BBC Television in London as an Assistant Director eventually being trained in the Documentaries Department as a Director. Returning to Hungary after the fall of the communist regime, she continued her freelance career as a director, making documentaries for Hungarian Television. In 1998 she formed her own production company Media Mania Films. Her feature documentary „Tabu” received a „Special Mention” at FIPA in 2003. She completed a feature documentary "Tough Girls" in 2016, commissioned by HBO Europe. Her latest film „Joyride with Sexteto Milonguero” is a music documentary.
