Inna Sahakyan graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts with an M.A. degree in Fine Arts Criticism. Since 2002 she has been working as a producer and director at Bars Media Documentary Film Studio. She has directed and produced a number of PSAs, short and fundraising documentaries for various international organizations and local NGOs (UN, UNICEF, European Union, and USAID).As assistant director she collaborated in the multi-award winning documentary A Story of People in War and Peace – an international co-production with BBC, ARTE, WDR, and YLE.Inna directed the documentary The Last Tightrope Dancer in Armenia, an international co-production with NHK, ITVS, YLE, SVT and TVP. In addition to On the Tightrope, she is currently developing Elephant Soldiers, a feature documentary about the ongoing human elephant conflict in Kenya and the recent return of the international demand for ivory, triggering an exponential rise in elephant poaching.
