Elena Stanisheva is a Macedonian film producer living and working in Skopje, where she established her independent film production company VEDA Film Productions. Prior to that she collaborated with the director Milcho Manchevski (Before the Rain, 1995 - Academy Award nominee and winner of the Golden Lion in Venice) working as an Assistant Producer on his features films Shadows (2007) and Mothers (2010) and as a Producer on 4 short video films, all internationally distributed and awarded. Last year, after completing the short film “To Guard a Mountain”, produced in cooperation with the Norwegian Film School from Lillehammer and winning many international awards among which 1st Prize for Life-Action Short Film at Chicago International Children Festival 2013, selected by the CEZAR French Film Academy as one of 7 best short films in the program “Les Nuits en Or” 2013 and nominated by the LA Academy for the Student Oscar, she participated in the certificate program for producers at the New York Film Academy in New York and worked as producer in the development stage on one of her teacher’s film project. This year in August 2013 she was one of the talents from Macedonia at the Sarajevo Talent Campus. Currently she lives in Prague, Czech Republic where she is completing her studies at FAMU International, with concentration on screenwriting.
