Maja Weiss is one of the most acknowledged Slovenian filmmakers. Already during her studies at Ljubljana Film Academy she became one of the most promising film directors. For fifteen years her films have received international awards and were widely broadcast. Among other awards, her first feature film ;Guardian of the Frontier; also received the Manfred Salzgeber Award for the most innovative European film at the Berlinale 2002 and was officially nominated for the Fassbinder Award for the best European first feature film at the European Film Awards 2002.
In 2007 she complited her second feature film Installation of Love.
She is member of European Film Academy.
