Growing up with a fixation for good stories, Shawrya’s journey into the dramatic arts began as an actor. When he was young he performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and was invited to perform at Thespo in Mumbai.
While enrolled in the University of Nottingham (UK) he interned in an AD-Film production house as a production and direction assistant. After graduating he worked in the script development teams of Phantom and Andolan Films in Mumbai. His work is greatly influenced by history, culture and politics. While he has a broad range of interests within the discipline of storytelling, he prefers the themes of sci-fi, human-rights and love.
He is currently enrolled for the Montage program at the Film and TV school of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU)
