Talya Tibbon is an award winning documentary film and television director producer and writer. Recently, two of her films were nominated for the 2018 International Documentary Association Award: Sky and Ground in the Best Documentary Feature Category and Sex and Love around the World in the Best Episodic Television Series category. Sky and Ground premiered at DocNYC festival in 2017 and has since won multiple awards, including CINE Golden Eagle Award for Best Documentary. It aired on PBS World Channel in Fall of 2018 and it's now available via Amazon Prime.



Over the years Talya has worked in 4 continents, documenting street gangs, drug dealers and users in Denver; Women trafficking in some of the most dangerous parts of Central America, refugees fleeing the war in Syria on their journey across the Balkans and those who start settling in in Europe, as well as dare-devil ice swimmers.

She has interviewed Nobel Prize winners to get to the roots of the financial crisis, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Giuliani (and others) about decision-making during 9/11, Obama’s top security and intelligence advisors about capturing and killing Osama bin Laden and Julian Assange on how growing up in the shadow of the Cold War led to the creation of Wikileaks..

She spent time with a wide range of not-as-famous but equally fascinating characters: from sex workers to hedge fund whiz kids to public health volunteers... from criminals to cops, from mothers to orphans.

She recently completed a series looking at the world 10 years after the financial crisis. Her film for CNN's Original Series Sex and Love around the World: Berlin, is now available via Netflix.
