Joosep Matjus is an Estonian director and cinematographer, specialized in nature films. He is the most celebrated new generation nature filmmaker in Estonia. He graduated Baltic Film and Media School with a Master's degree in 2009. Joosep has filmed nature in Scandinavia, Russia, Canadian Arctica and in the United States. The most known films from these expeditions are “White Volves - Ghosts of the Arctic” (2018, dir. Oliver Goetzl); “Wild Wonders of America” (2015, dir. Oliver Goetzl) and “Wild Scandinavia” (2009, dir. Oliver Goetzl). As a director Joosep is known for short documentaries "Summer Documentary" (2006), "Rebirth" (2007), "Old Man and the Moose" (2009) and "The Gull Theorem" (2014). "The Wind Sculpted Land"(2018) is his debute feature documentary as a director.
