I spent my childhood in Condat, a small town in the Dordogne where the paper mill employed 500 people. The factory chimneys spewed thick white smoke. It smelled like cabbage. There was no cinema in town, but the factory made paper for Cahiers du cinéma. Every Sunday evening, I would listen to "Projection privée" on France Culture. That was enough to make me happy, imagining the week's film releases. A few years later, I wanted to produce films. I created Novanima in 2006 and have produced more than 70 films in 18 years.
