Jan Hrnčíř was born in 1975 in south Moravian village Dolní Dunajovice. Shortly after he got trained as a car mechanic he moved to Brno where he worked on several workmen projects. In 1996 he went to Bosnia to work for the IFOR peace mission. After that he spent three years in New York, USA. He has lived in Prague since 2001 where he founded several real estate agancies and started networking within music, film and theatre communities. In 2007 he participated in creating the first album of the Cuban music band „La Conexion“and also funded the whole project. In 2008 he published Milan Spišák's collection of poems called „Teď nebo tady/Now or here“. At the present he participates as a cameraman and producer on an alternative series „Psí hřbitov/Dog's cemetary“ about the controversial topics of today's society such as drugs or racism. This autumn will be the premiere of his first feature documentary called „Rok konopí/Year of Marichuana“.
