Bakar is a filmmaker from Tbilisi, Georgia. He holds a BA and MA in Audio Visual Arts from TAFU and an MA in documentary filmmaking from Docnomads. He made his films in countries such: as China, Georgia, Belgium, Hungary, and Portugal. Bakar collaborated with the Georgian National broadcaster and several non-governmental organizations focusing on human rights. (Such as Unicef, Open Society, and others) He is a member of the Doca (Georgian Documentary Filmmakers Association) in Georgia and the Deauthors Association in Belgium. Bakar had several successful local and international projects. In 2017, he was awarded the ‘’Tsinandali Award’’ for the most prominent young Georgian filmmaker of the year. His films have been nominated and awarded in multiple film festivals around the globe, such as IDFA, Sarajevo IFF, Docaviv, and others. He is an alumnus of IDFA Academy, Sarajevo Talents, Esodoc, Cinedoc new talent caucasus, and other workshops. Bakar is an invited lecturer at the faculty of Audio Visual Arts in Shota Rustaveli Theater and Film State University in Georgia Tbilisi.
