Rafał Skalski, graduate of the Polish National Film School in Łódź. He directed the black comedy A Night at the Kindergarten (Netflix, 2022). Before his feature debut, he made several award-winning documentaries. 52% (2007) screened at numerous international festivals, winning the Golden Hobby-Horse at the Krakow Film Festival and the Grand Prix at the DOXA Documentary Film Festival. His feature documentary Monk of the Sea (2016) premiered at the Locarno Film Festival in the Semaine de la Critique section. He has also directed documentary series for Canal+ and fiction series for Netflix and Viaplay. His work moves freely across genres — a diversity he considers central to his filmmaking.
