Soňa is a graduate of documentary filmmaking at the Academy of Performing Arts in the studio of Jaro Vojtek, where she completed her master's film exploring the essence of femininity, ‘The Birth of a Woman’, which has been acclaimed at multiple international festivals. In addition, she spent a semester at the National Academy of Film and Theatre Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria, and at the Department of Documentary Photography at Volda University
College in Norway. In her filmmaking, Soňa has focused on themes of the refugee crisis as well as feminist
issues. Her films have been screened at various international festivals, including Febiofest Bratislava, FIDE
Paris, Zlín, Echoes of Katyn, etc.
