Jessica returned home to New Zealand after living in Berlin for two years to complete Cowboys & Communists. She has over almost 10 years freelance experience in documentary and popular factual development, research and directing. During that time, Jessica has worked on a range of arts and youth programmes and social documentaries. She now works full time in documentary development for The Gibson Group, a film and television production company based in Wellington. Directorial credits: Aug 2002 - Dec 2002, Cokesmokefreerockquest (ScreentimeCommunicado, 5 x 30’ series following the hopefuls in NZ’s biggest school band competition). July 2002 The Living Room (Sticky Pictures, 7’ mockumentary style piece on Wellington’s comedy music duo Flight of the Concords, Winner: Qantas Media Awards - Entertainment Programme (Series), Winner: New Zealand Television Awards - Best Lifestyle/ Ent. Programme (Series). April 2002 - Aug 2002 - Favourite Body Parts (Top Shelf Productions, 60’ prime time documentary for TV2 that explores people’s favourite body parts, aspects of physical attraction and our fascination with bodies. Dec 2001 - Feb 2002, Gather Round (Gibson Group, 60’, presenter driven documentary for TV3 about a dance and music festival). Nov 2001 - Robbie Williams - Back Here Now (Satellite Pictures, 30’ prime time programme following Robbie Williams tour of New Zealand).
