Karel Picha is a multidisciplinary visual creative, encompassing roles as a Director, Director of Photography and Producer, currently based in Taipei, Taiwan. He graduated from the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD) with a BA (Hons) in Visual Communication – Art Direction. As a Director, he was honoured with the Muse Creative Awards 2020 Platinum in New York for his work as a director, DOP, co-writer, and co-producer of the short film for the Taiwan Tourism Bureau titled “Penghu: Islands of your Dreams” (2020). As a DOP, he contributed to the award-winning documentary “Pile of Ghosts” (2021) produced and directed by Austrian conceptual filmmaker Ella Reidel. As a photographer and photojournalist, Karel collaborates with the Czech News Agency (CTK) and Associated Press (AP).
