director

Matei Alexandru Mocanu studied at AUBG, where he tried to get his B.A. in Cultural Anthropology & Visual Communication. After his first year there, The Soros Open Society Foundation withdrew its financial support and he had to come back to Romania. Here, he reluctantly studied Political Sciences at SNSPA, but, in the end, he finished the Film and TV Directing section of the UNATC, under the supervision of Professor Elisabeta Bostan. His graduation film, 'AITILOP', was deemed by the exam commission as “immoral and obscene” and, consequently, prohibited its screening in festivals.
