Katharina Dufner studied Spanish, music studies and history in Freiburg, Barcelona and Hamburg. At the same time, she experienced as a director's assistant and production director in several theatre productions. After receiving her master's degree, she worked for the Mexican Goethe Institute and their Festival Internacional Cervantino. Between 2004 and 2006, she added a master in film production at Hamburg Media School and started as a free-lance editor for the television-department "Das kleine Fernsehspiel", ZDF’s showcase for new talents in film, television and Internet. In 2007, she attended as producer among others: a comedy TV series show, a TV movie for channel Sat.1 as well as a debut feature film screened at Berlinale 2008. As from January 2008, Katharina Dufner works as a commissioning editor for "Das Kleines Fernsehspiel" as well as for the ZDF-primetime slot "Fernsehfilm I".
