Born in 1956 in Mlada Boleslav,after graduating from FAMU hestarted to shoot documentaries.In 1989 he begun to direct featurefilms. And TV series. Many of hisfeature films gained success andhad been awarded on festivals inCzech and abroad – e.g. Amerika(1994), Forgotten light (1996),Sekal has to die (1998), Praguestories (1999), Angel Exit (2000),Autumn spring (2002), Ofparents and children (2008).
