Sona Margaryan has a degree in English Literature. She has been working at Bars Media as a producer on several feature-length documentaries and TV series. She has been an associate producer for the animated documentary Aurora’s Sunrise (Armenian-German-Lithuanian), which was the first project that was funded by Eurimages as an Armenian majority. “Aurora’s Sunrise” has won Best Animated Film at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards, and was selected to numerous festivals, such as IDFA, Filmfest Hamburg IFF, Annecy IFF, etc. Sona also worked on a documentary “Mel” (Armenian - Dutch) - a story of a transgender weightlifter. The film was aired on NHK, Inside the Lens. Sona is now working on a post-production of a feature-length “Fight” and a short film “Jeanna”, both are a co-production with France.
