Noémi Varga is a London based filmmaker. She is a graduate of the Royal College of Art, where she specialised in Moving Image. Her graduation film, the experimental documentary 'The Happiest Barrack' premiered in Rotterdam and went on to win three BAFTA qualifying awards in the UK. Her second short non-fiction project, about a British Muslim mother who lost her son to radicalisation, was commissioned by Film London. It premiered at Sheffield Doc/Fest last year and was acquired by The Atlantic at the festival. Her latest film “Folk” was supported by BFI Doc Society Made of Truth, and will premiere in 2024. Noemi is an alumnus of Berlinale Talents / Short Form Station and is currently a BAFTA Connect member. She also teaches across several higher education courses focused on documentaries in the UK, keen to share her industry know-how with the next generation of filmmakers.
