Born on the 22nd of October 1974. He began working for HBO Romania in 1999, as Writer/Producer; in 2004 he became Senior Writer/Producer and since 2006 he’s been acted as consultant for the acquisition of Romanian films; in 2009 he was appointed Creative Manager for the OnAir and Original Production departments. He produced 7 original HBO documentaries, among which The World According to Ion B. – the 2010 International Emmy award for Best Arts Programming and the 2010 Gopo award for best documentary. A Foreign Languages graduate, he worked as film critic for the VIP magazine (1995-2001), as film and music critic for the Art&Roll and Sunete magazine (2000-2003), as film columnist for the Apropo magazine (2004-2006) and as film, music and DVD critic for the REPUBLIK magazine (2005-2008) and the Time Out Bucureşti magazine (2006-2008). He wrote various articles for cultural magazines such as Dilema Veche, Observator Cultural, KinoKultura and Esquire. Since 2004, he’s been a film editorialist for the HBO Film Magazine. Member of the short feature competition pre-selection jury of the Anonimul festival – 2nd edition/2005. Member of the critics’ jury of the DaKino festival – 15th edition/2005. Member of the National Cinema Awards 2005 critics’ jury appointed by the CNC. Member of the short fiction jury of the Anonimul festival – 3rd edition/2006. Member of the pre-selection jury for the GOPO awards – 1st edition/2007. Short feature competition selector for DaKino – the 17th edition/2007. Member of the short fiction jury of the Dakino festival – the 18th edition/2008. Since 2008, he’s the Artistic Director of the Bucharest International Film Festival (B-EST IFF) . Since 2005 he’s a member of the HBO/TIFF National Script Contest.
