Gerda Jirgena is a filmmaker whose work includes documentary and experimental cinema, music videos and short films. She has just finished her Bachelor's degree in Film Directing at the National Film School of the Latvian Academy of Culture. Gerda's latest works demonstrates her interest in depicting the human experience - her most acclaimed short documentary "Through the Child's Eyes" (2024) received the Latvian National Film Award "Lielais Kristaps" in the Best Short Documentary category. Gerda combines artistic sensitivity with technical precision. She applies her skills in the film industry in the following roles: director, set/actors/art dept. assistant, 1AD and 2AD, editor, scriptwriter.
