FLORIAN SCHEWE studied directing at the Film University in Potsdam-Babelsberg. His graduating film Lebendkontrolle won the German section at the BERLINALE in 2010 and the GERMAN CAMERAAWARD among others. Since his graduation, he was involved in severaldocumentaries and doc series for television (ARTE/ORF/RBB/SWR/ZDF/ZDFneo), and directed two feature length documentaries.
In 2017 he co-founded, together with four producers, the Berlin based production company FILM FIVE GMBH, dedicated to producing high-end documentaries and documentary series for local and global audiences. For the company, he produced several award-winning documentaries, most recently Brenda Akele Jorde’s THE HOMES WE CARRY and cem Kaya’s LOVE, DEUTSCHMARK AND DEATH, which won the audience award at the 72. Berlinale.
He is a member of IDA, DAE, AG DOK
