Maria Binder graduated from Free University Berlin in sociology, psychology, politics and from the University of Arts, Berlin in video art. She worked for the “Council of Migration Berlin / Brandenburg e.V.” and for the Federal Program “Diversity does good” on intercultural and interreligious workshops. Since 1995, she has been realizing her own film projects about racism, gender and human rights issues as author, director and producer. Since 2003 she has been working in a voluntary capacity for amnesty international and Turkish human and women rights movements. She lives in Berlin and Istanbul.
