Born September 5, 1964 in the city of Baranovitchi, in Belarus. Later his family moved to Kiev, Ukraine. In 1987 he graduated from Kiev Polytechnic Institute with a degree in engineering and mathematics. From 1987 through 1991 Sergei was employed as a scientist at the Institute of Cybernetics. In addition to his main job, Sergey worked as a translator from Japanese. In 1997, graduated with honors from the Russian State Institute of Cinematography in movie production and direction. In 2001 Sergei moved with his wife and two daughters to Germany.
