Ilina Perianova is passionate about travelling, film-making and photography. She has attended various workshops for theatre acting, directing and dance in France, Denmark, Bulgaria and India. She received BA degree in theatre studies from the New Bulgarian University in Sofia but has later steered her creative focus towards cinema. Initially she started her career as an actress and played parts in several plays but then she moved on to directing shorts. In 2009, her short feature film entitled “The small adventure” won an award at a Bulgarian cinema challenge. Ilina’s graduation project “I am hungry” was a multi-media collage pastiche based on three plays by French authors. Ilina was an intern at one of the major Bulgarian production companies. Ilina has directed two short documentaries and is working on several new projects. She is fluent in Bulgarian, Russian, English and French and is currently studying German.
