Valery Balayan (born August 30, 1960) - film director and screenwriter, member of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, a member of the Guild of Russian screenwriter, member of the Guild of documentary films in Russia, a member of the Guild of Russian Filmmakers, board member of the Crimean branch of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine. Started his career in film as a laborer at Lenfilm Studio (1980-1982gg) - in the film crews Dinara Asanova, Ilya Averbakh, Mikhail Yershov, Vladimir Fetin, Sergei Ovcharov, etc. In 1982 he worked an assistant operator at the Leningrad Documentary Film Studio. He take place in film crews Alexei Uchitel, Nicholas Obukhovichi, Sergey Skvortsov, Pavel Kogan and others in 1984.
In 1984 he entered the screenwriting department of the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and directors of the USSR State Committee for Cinematography (workshop Leonid Gurevich). In 1989 he graduated as a director of documentary films VKSR.
In subsequent years, for the scenario Valery Balayan produced more than 40 documentaries and more than 60, he filmed as a director.
