Tomáš Měšťan (b. 1979, Brno) is a producer and filmmaker. He gained his experience primarily in documentary, promotional, and fiction filmmaking. He worked at the Bolek Polívka Theatre and at the Goose on a String Theatre in Brno, and also collaborated with the Theatre on the Balustrade in Prague.
He supports and promotes Kovářovo údolí (a non-profit organization), where he is involved in marketing activities including video production, documentary work, and social media management, particularly at Hamerský mlýn near Brno. He worked as a reporter for TV Nova in Brno and Prague, and as a current affairs reporter for Czech Television in Prague. He also collaborated with the Slovak TV station JOJ TV as a director, reporter, cameraman, and editor of news and current affairs reports in Prague and Berlin. He subsequently worked with the international Russian television network Russia Today, the American network Fox News, and the Austrian-German broadcaster AUF1 TV, producing reports and footage across Europe, especially in Central Europe. Since 2007, he has been the head producer of his own TV, film, and online production company BulvarART.cz. He has contributed to the production of educational and promotional films for the Czech Rail Inspection Authority, as well as music videos (including for cellist František Brikcius) and a promotional film for the City of Prague. He is also the author of his own documentary films, short fiction films, and promotional videos. He appeared as himself in the documentary film Empire Builders (2018), which received several awards, including the Pavel Koutecký Award at the Elbe Dock Festival 2019, the Czech Film and Television Academy (ARAS) Award 2018, and Best Documentary at FAMUfest 2018.
