After studying history and political science, Michael worked as a freelance writer and director (including for Terra X, Arte Entdeckung, and ZDFzeit). Since 2013, as senior producer at ZDF Digital Medienproduktion, he has been responsible for setting up a production department for the Terra Xpress series. At the same time, Michael has implemented creative techniques such as the “writers' room” model in development processes as head of fiction. Together with HR Neue Medien, he developed a VR application that combines spatial narration with interactive storytelling (History 360°). Since 2018, Michael has been supporting the editorial team at ZDF (Terra Xplore). He also teaches as a guest lecturer at the Center for Media Competence at Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen.
