Beate Thalberg is dedicated to documentaries since 15 years. She is a commissioning editor/script supervisor/developer and project manager for documentaries at Austria’s main and public TV station ORF. She always looks for the best documentary - specialty in storytelling, state of the art in filming and framing, strong authentic characters to identify with. Beate is very keen to learn more about new possibilities of storytelling. Her lively interest is Transmedia. Since years, Beate is a permanent member of the festival crowd, seeking worldwide for interesting projects. Besides arts & culture docs she looks for prime time, character driven documentaries which tell thrilling stories about courage, risk, power of deciding, adventure, anger, friendship and love in our times. Beate is also a script writer and director of documentaries herself. Her own films where shown in cinemas and were broadcasted in television all over Europe as well as in the U.S., Canada, Australia and Israel. Beate won prices as the “Golden Rose of Montreux”, the “Silver Award” at the Videoart Festival Chicago, the “Romy”, the main TV-price of Austria. Beate Thalberg is a member of EUROVISION Documentary Experts Group, European Documentary Network and closely collaborates with documentary professionals all over the world.
