We are up close and personal, following individuals who together make a great whole. They defy society, the economy and politics. Their credo: Don't act for yourself, act for the common good! And that includes our planet, because if we continue to treat our earth the way we currently (still) do, we can forget about our common good. Expressive images make us aware of the extent of the catastrophe. We see exactly what we never wanted to see. "Landscapes" that are so broken as we would never imagine in our most tragic nightmares. Parts of this world we humans have so disfigured that we would not even assign them to this planet anymore. In addition, the invisible part of the catastrophe is many times higher.
But as Luisa Neubauer said, "Hope is hard work. And lack of hope is a reason to act." And better now than later. That's why we accompany several people who have made it their own business to hold a mirror up to the system. They are not doing it for themselves, but for all of us and for the planet. And they do it all over the world. We want to use the idea to define "the true" heroes of our time. We want to be inspired by the people who don't have to have the bigger house and car than the neighbor, but stand against this omnipresent egoism, narcissism and capitalism to protect the planet.
But we don't just want to look at what's wrong, we also want to take a hopeful look into the future. We see innovations and new ways of thinking that will be part of our path in harmony with nature and the planet. It's a long road to turn around a system that has been ingrained for decades, but there is only one perfect moment to start - and it's now.
