One Blood

The documentary series One Blood tells the stories of young talented people in countries that we know from the media mainly through shocking images full of suffering, poverty and terrorism. It takes a close look at the lives of people who, despite the difficult social and political conditions in their country, try to fulfill their dreams through sports or art. They belong to the tiny percentage of those who criticize or act directly against the mainstream society, who disapproves of or even bans their “way of life”. Their passion for what they do might seem naive or astonishing to us in Europe, but it reveals the seeds of a new, modern-minded generation of people that wants to change the future of these collapsed countries. 6x26'

The Obsession

A digital hipster Oskar penetrates a world of fanatical analog-loving projectionists. It is not an easy task and sometimes it seems very dangerous. A documentary dedicated to the dying world of 70 mm film and a few last people who even today do not hesitate to lift hard disks filled with film strips and feed them to their insatiable analog projectors.

Mike's Dream from Aleppo

Mike was forced to leave his hometown of Aleppo, Syria at 16. He couldn't imagine seizing a weapon in fight against Bashar's regime at such a young age. Besides, he could never pursue his dream in a Muslim country. He's always wanted to become a tattoo artist and Islam prohibits body modification. Mike converts to Christianity, gets married and opens a tattoo studio in Tbilisi, Georgia. No one really goes there, as Georgians have little faith in the young Arab's skills and consider him a terrorist. He plans to move to Europe. After three failed attempts at immigration and losing all his money, he is back to Georgia, defeated. Reality pushes out naivety. However, Mike isn't ready to give up on his childhood dream just yet.

The Blood, Sweat and Tears

The film traces the eighth generation of the family of puppeteers, Kopecký, through brothers Rosťa and Vítek Novák, in critical moments of their lives, starting with the year 2014 when they acquired their own theatre space – Jatka 78 – sparking the idea for their ambitious project with new circus ensemble Cirk La Putyka. The new circus is not merely a glittery show chock-full of spectacular artistry and acrobatics. Cirk La Putyka is not only an ensemble of free-thinking artists riding a wave of popularity among Prague’s intellectual elite. It is a dream come true – and not only for ringleader Rosťa Novák, but also his ancestors; it was namely his self-destructive resolve which, after eight generations of travelling artists, finally brought them what they always wanted - own theatre.

Sisters

Documentary feature based on 8 mm films found in an Institute for teenage girls classified as mentally handicapped in Klentnice, Czechia. While nuns took care for the young inmates, one of them had a camera. Film unfolds the story of the gaze itself as these marginalized women made their existence visible through filming. Those who were to remain unseen are now looking back.
