Dnipro was closed city until 1987, it was "The space capital of the USSR". Special status allowed to begin construction of the underground here. 6 metro stations were opened in 1995. Till that time no more stations were built. Today underground in the Dnipro extremely unprofitable. It’s one of the shortest lines in the world. But small amount of passengers, the almost complete absence of advertising, help to keep a special atmosphere in the subway - purity of underground retro-futuristic city.
