Synopse
This film is an exploration of this intercultural relationship that takes place in the universe of the computer screen. I meander through the screen and the internet to learn new things about my longtime Skype Russian teacher, Varya, who I have never met in real life. I explore her neighborhood through the gaze of Google, yet I wonder what other gazes and perspectives exist in this universe, and mourn what I cannot see. I seek to unlock more of these ways of seeing via language acquisition, but deeply embedded ideas that have critically shaped me still hold me back. Russian Windows is a deeply subjective film that explores the universe of subjectivity through the framework of the narrative structure.
